Silkscreen Opportunity Planning


This week: 

I have the opportnunity to experiment with Screenprinting in studio at the beginning of March - so to prepare for this I wrote down what I wanted to gain from this initial session and conducted some complimentary artist research.

I want to:
Get to grips with the method.
Experiment with abstract markmaking, textures and collage to see how it suits the medium.
Learn how suitable it is as part of my multi-media / hand made designs approach to illustration as response to AI industry.
Come away confident enough to produce a completed silkscreen design.

To achieve my goals, I planned to use my large library of texture assests, along with some primary and royalty free photography, sketches and scanned linocut alphabet to collage common phrases alongside layered shapes and textures to create simple a4 prints. I thought this would be a time efficient and effective group of developments on the road to realisation as it would allow me to experiment with the relationship between layout, typography and texture in effective protest art.
