Digital Thumbnailing

An aim set out at the start of this module was to improve my ability to utilise digital tools (such as Photoshop) as part of my thumbnailing process rather than ONLY in the developments / clean-up towards outcome phase. As an illustrator who wants to work with printmaking, it can be difficult to imagine how certain ideas will manifest as prints are always unique because certain colour cominations or layout decisions or textures on each element may not combine well during the actual printing process and damage my perception of a concept. To solve this, I have attempted to thumbnail most of my ideas with simple Photoshop tools. This page details a few different examples:

Woodcut

I wanted to force myself to entirely use digital tools to thumbnail out my large woodcut piece (apart from very minor thumbnailing and tracing paper use). I am both nervous and excited to do this as this will force me to approach my process in a different way and may lead to a different outcome.
