Cheltenham Illustration Awards: My Aims

Pittville Press, ran in conjunction with the University of Glocestershire, host the Cheltenham Illustration Awards every year. These are open to artists of all skill levels and are unique in the brevity of their briefs, allowing the illustrators a large amount of creative freedom. I think this is ideal for my “final” timed project for this academic year, as it allows me to closely simulate responding to a real-world brief, especially in regards to adding my own “artistic handwriting” / USP to my work.

My aims for this module are:

In contrast to my previous modules, I’d like to use this opportunity to challenge my timekeeping skills by producing one high-quality brief response with a short turnaround time.
Quickly identify the appropriate printmaking technique to utilise based on success of last module.

My “set outcome” for this module will be one piece of multi-media illustration suitable to be submitted digitally to official CIA portal - if there is no brief posted in time, I will look more towards my artistic handwriting present in my developments to measure my success.
